KARNATAKA CONSUMER COURT

A collaboration with Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy

Project phases - Site analysis, Primary and Secondary research, Zoning and area program, Moodboards and materials, Schematics, Construction and presntation drawings, 3D renders and animations. Tools used -

The project is the design of an "ideal" consumer court, based on the study of the access, circulation, comfort, useability, services, and amenities - or the lack thereof - in an existing consumer court. Conceptualised in collaboration with the Judicial Reforms team at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, this project is intended to be based on data on the poor spatial
planning and indifferent attention to basic amenities in courts of justice, as found by the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy as part of their JALDI (Justice, Access and Lowering Delays in India) study.

‘Ideal’ standards is to be generated through site visit (Karnataka State Consumer Court), research and design conceptualisations. It is important to design keeping both functionality and people comfort and accessibility in mind. Introducing more efficient spaces and using spatial layout for better crowd flow and management without creating any hinderance in the judcial procedures.
